Shipping

We can ship to virtually any address in the world. Please note that there are some restrictions on some products, and some products cannot be shipped to international destinations. Guildwater Gear has connections to distribution warehouses in Georgia, Connecticut, Kentucky, and California. Depending upon the inventory availability of a given item, as well as your own location, your order may ship from one of those four distribution centers, which may impact shipping time and costs. In some cases, and especially for more obscure audio products -- that exotic special-order condenser microphone we all covet -- the product may drop-ship to you directly from the manufacturer. In all cases, Guildwater Gear will do its utmost to ensure prompt dispatch and delivery of your merchandise, while keeping you apprised of any and all shipping expectations and / or changes. 

When you place an order, shipping and delivery date estimates are based upon the availability of your items and the shipping options you choose. The shipping rates for all items we sell are weight- and size-based. The shipping rates that you see as a customer, during the check-out process, are provided to you directly by UPS, FedEx, and USPS, via their API (Application Programming Interface) services. Their calculations are based upon your location, and the shipping dimensions and weight of the merchandise in question. To reflect the policies of the shipping companies we use, all weights will be rounded up to the next full pound. Depending upon the shipping partner chosen, delivery date estimates may appear on the shipping quotes page.

Items that qualify for, or receive "Free Shipping," will be sent using the "Standard Shipping Rate," which means in most cases Ground Services. It depends upon the item in question, its dimensions, and its weight. There is obviously a difference between "Free Shipping" on a small 2 lb. microphone, as compared to a heavier item, such as an 87 lb. subwoofer. First, the microphone might inadvertently qualify for faster shipping services, considering its size. Second, the subwoofer can never be handled by USPS, as it exceeds their weight limits. Furthermore, shipping the subwoofer via "UPS Next Day Air" up the East Coast, from Athens to New York, would cost around $932, which is more than the price tag on the subwoofer itself. Choose your rates based upon your needs and time-table.       

We aim to ship your order ASAP! In general, items that are in-stock can ship the same day if the order is placed before the cut-off times noted below. Orders for items that are not in-stock are subject to manufacturer's availability and shipping terms. 

Cut-off times for shipping the same day:

  • a. If shipping UPS ground, the times will be as follows:
    • i. East - 10:00 AM EST
    • ii. West -12:00 PM EST
    • iii. Central - 10:00 AM EST
  • b. If shipping express shipments, the times will be as follows:
    • i. East 11:00 AM EST
    • ii. West 11:30 AM EST
    • iii. Central 9:00 AM EST
  • c. If shipping LTL (Less Than Load), the times will be as follows:
    • i. East - 8:00 AM EST
    • ii. West - 11:00 AM EST
    • iii. Central - 9:00 AM EST

Return Policy

You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. If the return is a result of our error (that is, you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.), we will pay the return shipping costs. Otherwise, the customer is responsible for the cost of return shipping. 

You should expect to receive your refund for the item's value (less the original shipping costs) within four weeks of delivering your package to the return shipper. However, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).

If you need to return an item, please Contact Us with your order number and details about the product you would like to return. We will respond quickly with instructions on how to return items from your order. 

Items that have been opened prior to return may be assessed a 10% - 15% restocking fee, depending on the degree of wear to the interior packaging and, most specifically, the package contents. Items that show signs of use may well be rejected for either return or refund upon receipt and inspection. Please understand that we do indeed sincerely wish for you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. Owing, however, to the nature of professional audio equipment, all customers desire their newly-purchased gear to arrive looking exactly that -- "new." Returned items that show signs of wear present impediments for their reselling in a condition listed as "new." In such a case, we would be left with "open-box" or "b-stock"  inventory.

Prior to purchase, and especially if you are concerned as to whether you will ultimately like a particular piece equipment for the studio or stage, we would recommend one of two things. First, research extensively your desired product. This includes visiting the manufacturer's website, reading audio forums and customer reviews across the web. Second, if you are still unsure, and if at all possible, consider locating an equipment rental house near you, and testing the product.
