Spexx. Create Unique Soundscapes. Generate spectral effects, from unusual, beautifully sounding reverbs to experimental spectral transformations. Spexx is a powerful audio effects plug-in featuring two processing stages and seven individual effects for interactive spectral manipulations of an audio signal.

It is designed to deeply engage with audio: it not only creates spectral transformation but all kinds of experimental effects you can think of. This makes it an incredibly versatile tool for sound designers, musicians, EDM producers, and others. Feel like creating a great sounding reverb? Some weird spectral transformations? How about some unique sound the world hasn't heard yet? Explore possibilities by just playing around or use the included materials to dive deeper into some predefined options.

All the effects have been designed for being simple, yet freely combinable in a modular fashion. Each effect has been engineered for very smooth sound manipulation, a maximum of tonal shaping ability and optimum performance without sacrificing usability. Multi-core support guarantees glitch-free real-time performance even for demanding projects. Gain compensation and IN/OUT trim controls ensure there is no signal clipping. Factory presets make for an easy start with the software, providing pre-defined settings for a number of specific effects (e.g. long decay).

Click on any of the modules in the header to make them "active" or "inactive". Change the sequence by dragging an effect into a different position within the processing stage.

When an effect is selected, its controls appear in a floating interactive display. Drag up or down on any of these controls for a change of settings.

Set the input and output gain via the "VOL" button at the left and right of the processing chain. Click the "Reset" button to reset the accumulator and use the controls at the top of the window to adjust the spectral resolution.

Two stages. Spexx consists of two processing stages: A freeze stage captures and accumulates the incoming sound, applying the audio effects to the captured sound continuously, causing the output signal to change over time – like the reverb tail of an echo – plus an output stage which applies a user-defined spectral operation to the signal.

Seven effects. Two categories of audio effects for the shaping of all kinds of spectral effects: FocusFeazeDecayDamping for the creation of unusual, beautifully sounding reverbs. MirrorPitchSlope to generate experimental spectral transformations. Any combination of these is possible for other unique soundscapes.

Modular. The user interface of Spexx has been built in a modular fashion: Drag an individual effect into the desired position in the processing chain to define the signal manipulation. Set an effect to “active” to apply it to that processing stage. Or turn it "inactive" for the signal to remain unaffected.

Live or studio. Spexx comes with multi-core support to prevent any glitches and audio dropouts. It also features user-controllable parameters for various aspects of spectral resolution that allow you to find the best settings for any environment – in the studio, on the road, or in a live setting. Parameters can be fully automated or mapped to external MIDI controllers.
